Ah yes…. that time of year again….annual May birdcounting in Prince Edward County! Something I look forward to every year with my wonderful birding team, the Dew Drops. This year we met at 6AM and found some remarkably beautiful spots to sight birds and various other fauna & flora.
Just walking in the woods and by the water would be enough to refresh your spirits but spotting wildlife and identifying bird songs on a beautiful sunny day – well, it doesn’t get much better than that. Enjoy this virtual tour but better yet, get out in your own area and enjoy the sights, sounds & smells of your outdoor surroundings.
Our total count for our team was 105 species but the overall count for this year was 172 species and together, over $10,000 was raised for our the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory www.peptbo.ca

Great photos – loved the oriole and the bluebirds and the swallowtail butterfly – I had one of those in my garden last week – keep looking for him to return – maybe he is hiding from all the rain!
Thanks, Judy! I just love my yearly birdcounting expeditions. Every year, I learn so much more!! But this year, it should have been birdcounting & butterfly counting – they were so abundant, too.
Fabulous Fotos ! Great shots – I see that I need to find these locations in The County – not familiar with them.
I took note of all the places we visited so I can share them with you. There are so many hidden treasures in this County!
