Guardian Angels – are they real?  Do they exist?  How do you know?

You know them when you meet them.   When you experience the best in human love, caring and compassion.  Kait had been battling her cancer for 4 years and when she had a stroke in January 2018, within a week she was admitted to 4 hospitals:  Quinte Health Care in Picton then Belleville then on to Kingston General Hospital and finally The Ottawa Hospital.

There were angels everywhere we turned, all along the way at every hospital and most especially in Ottawa for the final 3 months of her life where these guardian angels shone brightly 24/7 both in Radiation and Medical Oncology.

Doctors, nurses, orderlies, cleaning staff, clerks, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, residents, fellows, nurse managers and many more looked after Kait – they say it takes a village to raise a child.  Well it takes a dynamic team to care for a patient.  Each playing an important role and each deserving a guardian angel pin for the exceptional care they extended to Kait along with the exceptional kindness and compassion they showed to our family & friends.

We were pleased to be able to present both teams with Guardian Angel Pins through our fundraising efforts and we are still working on sourcing items for Kait’s Comfort Kits.  Happy to report that Kleenex said they would be sending us 2 boxes filled with products – will post once received.  Soft kleenexes were on the top of the list so we are thrilled they want to participate.  More to come.
