What is always the one thing you find in a basket of musical instruments for small children?

Why a tambourine of course!

I wrote this song for teachers who wanted to do some creative art with their kindergarteners.  The children can make their own tambourines with just a few simple items:  sturdy paper plates, macaroni, colourful markers and ribbons and a 3-hole punch.

And of course, as the song says “I have a brand new tambourine/It’s purple and yellow and blue and green” so they know what colours to choose.

It’s one of my favourite songs to sing for children because they immediately get busy making their own tambourines and shake them with gusto when we sing the song together.

The song has been translated into French and I need to find a French children’s singer who would like to record it.  If you know one, let me know! Merci!

Feel free to share!

You can read the first 12 stories & hear all the songs on my Stories page:  https://jeanettearsenault.ca/writer/blog/

As always, I appreciate all your wonderful support!

The first story in this series, “Malaika”, gives you a bit of a background of why I embarked on this 52 week journey.
