Welcome to Episode 19 in my 2024 Monday Music Matters “Song-A-Week”series of stories in memory and in honour of my daughter, Kait
As I mentioned last week, I created 2 versions of the “ABC Song” – last week was the Canadian version with “zed”, and this week it’s the American version “zee”.

I wrote this version to help young budding musicians learn musical terms – allegro (quickly), pianissimo (quietly), staccato (short/detached).
The song is sung by my longtime studio partner, Greg Geeves’ son, Luke Geeves who was 12 at the time.
Music teachers take note! This is a fun way for your student to learn musical terms. Feel free to share.
You can read the first 17 stories & hear all the songs on my Stories page:

Enjoy the beautiful artwork created by Jessica Bell and her 2 sons: Aiden, 11 and Isaac, 9 for the song & story.

The first story, “Malaika”, gives you a bit of a background of why I embarked on this 52 week journey.
