Kait’s Comfort Kits bring comfort to patients at a hospital in Hamilton, Ontario

Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since my last post.

Also hard to believe what we have all gone through this past year since COVID-19 hit in March 2020.

As I mentioned in my last post, when the pandemic hit, the various hospitals we were donating Kait’s Comfort Kits to said they were unable to accept any of them for the past year.

So we pivoted to donating $9,000 worth of PPE supplies to several hospitals, long term care facilities plus a homeless shelter.

Since August 2020, I spent day after day helping my brother with special needs during a very difficult medical journey.  He cannot speak for himself so I was able be his voice and help staff get to know him.  His nickname is “Smiler-Man” because of his beaming smiles from the tips of his toes.

Ronald is a great healer and has helped me tremendously in his own way with my grieving process.  People always say how lucky he is to have me for his sister but I know it’s the other way around.  He has done more for me than I could ever do for him.  He is my hero.

Last month, I was thrilled when St Joseph’s Healthcare hospital in Hamilton said they would accept some of our Kits for the patients on the floor where my brother was a patient for the past 3 months.  They also wrote a wonderful article about him and our Kits which you can read on their website here:

As always a heart-felt thanks to our donors & contributors who helped make this gift possible.

Thank you poster

Finally, it’s hard, really hard, to believe that April 19, 2021 will mark 3 years since Kait flew off to her new home.  Still miss her as much as the day she left for the heavenly skies.
